Excellent sandwiches and smoothies. Stopped by for a quick bit with a 2 yr old, food came out super quick, fresh and scrumptious The sandwich bun had just the right amount of crunch to it with perfectly cooked portobello and salad.

Our choices were: Portobello and tomato mozzarella sandwiches with a green smoothies (forgot the name).

    Highly recommend

    Review #26 for 2019.

Nalu Health Bar and Cafe is located at South Shore Market in Kakaako. Lots of parking available in the structure. Order food and drinks at a counter and grab a seat at a table.

I went into Nalu last week to grab a bite with a fellow Yelper. I'd passed by several times before while walking around South Shore Market, but never actually bought anything. The ambience is pretty chill, and the workers are friendly.

Lots of healthy options for food and drinks. I ordered an ahi wrap, and it was ready in about five minutes. The wrap didn't look big, but it came with a salad and actually was enough for lunch. The flavors were good, but the ahi was on the drier side, unfortunately. The food was good, but not great. Still, I enjoyed my meal, and Nalu was a nice spot to grab a bite with a friend.

Everything is so good here from the food and the friendly service.  My favorite is the veggie wrap and sometimes I splurge and get it as a panini ----

They also have kombucha and nitro coffee on tap.

My number one healthy option since I work around the area!

    The Good:
    * You know I have to say that I am impressed with the level of delicious consistency.
    * My two favorite items are the Rainbow  Salad with a side of Ahi and the Steak  Sandwich
    * The way they cook their ahi for the salad is superrrr good, I highly recommend it as your salad protein choice
    * All sandwiches come with a little side salad

    The Bad:
    * I noticed that their prices keep increasing incrementally since they have opened... I mean I get it, They are located in the most expensive bougee block in town -- but damn it's a fancy lunch now. So now, I only go to Nalu as a treat.

    The Weird:
    * One time I brought in my own 12oz cup for them to put the smoothie  I ordered into. I called back and the chick totally forgot. So much for being earthy, responsible, and eco-friendly ‍. It was funny because she even offered to put it into my cup after she used the plastic cup. Omg... The whole point was to reduce plastic not used more and waste! Lol. Aiyaaaa.

Sandwich making is an art I can appreciate.

You need a good bread for texture and structure.  The ciabatta at Nalu's is that, plus they toast it.

You need something to add moisture.  Nalu's house sauce fits the bill, plus it's got a tangy, herbaceous kick.

Quality fillings are essential.  In my world avocado and sprouts get two thumbs up, and the Ahi and steak are cooked in-house.

Served on the side of the sandwiches are soft greens with a gingery dressing.  You can also order fresh juices which are a delicious, refreshing treat.

Stop into Nalu's for a casual, light lunch.  If their seating is full, you can find more tables in South Shore Market.
